THE TOUR

The tour starts in Cape Town where we spend 2 days taking in the delights of the city, including a visit to the Victoria & Albert Waterfront, where the charm of the old fishing docks merges with the new arcades on the shores of Table Bay to create a delightful ambiance. Accommodation is in the Waterfront where you can safely wander and enjoy the charm of this bustling city.

A visit to Cape Town would not be complete without an excursion to the top of incredible Table Mountain with its magnificent views and its encounters with sun worshipping dassies (rock hyrax, a relative of the elephant). The second day will take you past the 12 Apostle Mountains around which the city is built, past coastal towns and onward to the rugged Cape of Good Hope where we stop for a picnic lunch.
From here we proceed to Boulders Beach to visit with the famous African / Jackass penguins that reside here, before skirting the mountains and returning to the Waterfront.
.
Leaving the city behind, our first destination will be one of the beautiful wine farms in the Hottentots Holland Mountains, where we will stop for wine tastings and you get a chance to savour the unique local flavours of the wine and food. Overnight in the winelands.

Our journey of discovery continues further inland to a different wine region to compare and contrast the local wines and food. In Montagu, renowned for Muscadel wines, hot mineral springs and scenic mountains we will taste their wines and overnight.

The journey continues to Oudtshoorn, the "ostrich capital of the world"; via the nearby Cango Caves, famed as the finest dripstone caverns with examples of prehistoric art, we overnight in the town. The following morning includes a visit to an ostrich farm to get up close and personal with these primeval flightless bird and laugh at their peculiar antics.
We continue our journey to Knysna, one of South Africa’s most picturesque and popular coastal towns, where we take a break for 2 nights on the shores of the glorious lagoon and enjoy the charm and beauty of the area: additional activity options include; a lagoon cruise to the Knysna Heads, a nature hike, zip-line in the Tsitsikama Forest, walk the charming village and Thesen Island or just relax.
If you choose to do more wine tasting this can be done in a nearby wine region of Plettenburg Bay also known as the “Bubbly Route” due to 8 MCC style wines being created in this exciting new wine growing region.

Our return to Cape Town is via the coastal route and will include a visit and stop-over in Swellendam, South Africa’s third oldest town, to step into the world of the local people with a Township Tour, including dancing from the children.
Cape Agulhas is our next stop, the true southern-most tip of Africa where the Indian and Atlantic oceans merge. From there onward to beautiful Hermanus where we will spend the final 2 nights of the tour, it will include visiting the local wineries, taking in the charm of this town and with some luck, see the magnificent and memorable sight of Southern right whales at play in the bay.
Our tours are all accompanied by a local Tour Guide and Driver, and hosting is in B&B / Guest House accommodation where you will be welcomed by local people and shown true local hospitality.
